This series of works is inspired by my experience of living as a woman with breasts. I present breasts to counter the idealised patriarchal vision prevalent in the media and reveals the plump, perky fantasy promoted in the media. Breasts in the media bear little resemblance to the ones real women live with; instead, they are commodities in service of structural gender inequality.
Without a bra, a woman's breasts sag and gather their bulk at the bottom; her breasts sway and jiggle when she moves. I de-objectify my breasts by taking off the bra because they do not remain in the firm shape society desires. Society's obsession with idealised breasts is pervasive, leading women to feel inadequate as they compare themselves to 'fiction'. I aim to reveal the absurdity of our cultural obsession with breasts through exaggeration and humour.

“女拳出击” (Punch with the Feminist Fist)

In Mandarin, the word "rights" (权) and "fist" (拳) are homophones.

On Chinese social media, conservatives would ridicule feminists by referring them as "female fist" (女拳) instead of "female rights" (女权).

Chinese feminists reclaim the word "female fist" (女拳) by acknowledging it – we are punching patriarchy with our fists.
